This weekend course will introduce the fundamentals of writing with a broad edge calligraphy pen. It is the equivalent of a 6-week course. Uncial calligraphy is from Ireland and found in many historical manuscripts, including the Book of Kells and Lindisfarne Gospels. This beautiful, circular lettering is an excellent opportunity to develop basic lettering skills and gain control over the broad edge pen.  Students will write with a metal nib, create a finished calligraphy piece and create a book that highlights the techniques learned in class.  This is an excellent class for adults and youth who wish to learn calligraphy. Advanced projects are available for continuing students.

Cost: $120. Materials fee of $40 includes all the supplies necessary for class. You will have a basic set of supplies for calligraphy: nib holder, set of 2 nibs, ink, ink holder, pipette, practice paper, fine art paper, guidelines, exemplars and class supplies.
